Engine #305 was the lead engine on the trip to Landfill. I rode in its cab on the return trip. #305 is an SW1500, built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in June 1968 as St. Louis Southwestern #2492. It was retired from the SSW on August 23, 1995 and was sold to National Railway Equipment Corporation on January 5, 1996. It was soon resold to the Weyerhaeuser Woods Railroad as #305.
After Patriot Rail acquired the Weyerhaeuser Woods Railroad on December 31, 2010, #305 was sold to Larry’s Truck & Electric in October 2011.
