Corvallis Society of Model Engineers: Part 1

(NOTE: This website is NOT affiliated with the Corvallis Society of Model Engineers; visit www.csme1959.org for current info)

I originally posted these pictures on my old website on February 9, 2008.

The Corvallis Society of Model Engineers originated in the early 1950s as a youth model airplane club sponsored by the Corvallis Elks. The club was reorganized as a model railroad club in 1959. After the Elks moved to a new building in 1969 and the club lost its home, it separated from the Elks and acquired its current building in Adair Village in 1971.

The Corvallis Society of Model Engineers typically holds an open house every year during the first weekend in December. I visited the club during the open house on December 3, 2006. The following video and pictures show the club’s HO-scale layout.
