I originally posted these pictures of the LK&R layout on my old website on February 9, 2008.
My dad took these pictures of the Longview, Kelso & Rainier Model Railroad Club’s HO-scale layout in May 2005 after the club moved to the Riverside Community Church (the former Rainier Elementary School) in Rainier, Oregon. I believe these were the first photographs taken of the layout in this location. These pictures feature my dad’s Burlington Northern locomotives and cabooses and his Missouri Public Service (MPSX) unit coal train.

Here is a closeup of Burlington Northern SD40-2 #6773 on the point of a freight train in the yard.

This view of the layout's main control panel shows how the layout is constructed, with one 2-inch layer of foam on top of the framing, and additional layers used to build up the scenery. This particular mountain is left largely hollow for access to the back of the yard control panel.
The Missouri Public Service (MPSX) coal train is about to pass another train powered by Burlington Northern F-units.
