I originally posted these pictures of the LK&R layout on my old website on February 9, 2008.
My dad took these pictures of the Longview, Kelso & Rainier Model Railroad Club’s HO-scale layout in September 2005 at the club’s home club at the Riverside Community Church (the former Rainier Elementary School) in Rainier, Oregon. These pictures feature the club’s custom-painted locomotives and cabooses.
Longview, Kelso & Rainier U28B #280 is resting in the fueling rack of the engine terminal.

Longview, Kelso & Rainier U28B #281 is accompanied by a Longview, Kelso & Rainier GP60 and GP40-2 as it pulls a freight train through the cut near the farm.
Longview, Kelso & Rainier U28B #281 and its freight train meet a Longview, Kelso & Rainier wide-vision caboose on the end of another train in the cut near the farm as they pass under the branch line.
Longview, Kelso & Rainier U28B #281 emerges from a tunnel on the point of a freight train while another freight train with a Longview, Kelso & Rainier wide-vision caboose on the rear disappears into the tunnel.
Longview, Kelso & Rainier U28B #281 leads its freight train past the depot near the yard.
Longview, Kelso & Rainier U28B #281 leads a freight train on the main line.
This is the depot near the yard. It is painted in the club’s standard railroad structure colors of depot buff with depot olive trim.
