Old LK&R Yard

I never posted these pictures on my old website, but I am including them now for completion.

This is the original yard from the Longview, Kelso & Rainier Model Railroad Club’s first HO-scale layout from 1985.

The club soon found this yard to be too small, and replaced it with a larger yard. The replacement yard was the same length, but was much wider. The second yard was retained when the club built its second layout.

This original yard was sold and has passed though my dad’s possession more than once. He never had a use for the yard himself, and always found new owners for it.

It came into his possession again in 2007. It was in pretty bad shape by that point, so he replaced all of the track with new Atlas Code 100 flex track and turnouts.

The yard breaks into three sections for transportation.

I took these pictures on December 2, 2007.

My dad wanted to use the pictures to find a buyer for the yard online.

The yard now has a new home.
