MSOE Society of Model Engineers Layout in the 1960s

These pictures are from the archives of the Society of Model Engineers model railroad club at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I scanned these pictures in November 2003 so they could be posted on the club’s website. The website is no longer online, so I am posting them here.

The Society of Model Engineers at the Milwaukee School of Engineering was founded in 1965. The club’s original home was in the basement of the E-Building, a former Welsh Presbyterian Church built in 1854. The club started out in an 8’ x 10’ office and grew to eventually fill most of the basement with a large HO-scale layout.

These pictures are from the early years of the club. The first pictures are known to be from the fall of 1965. The others are undated, but all appear to date from before 1969. I don’t know anything about the people or models shown here.
