These pictures are from the archives of the Society of Model Engineers model railroad club at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I scanned these pictures in November 2003 so they could be posted on the club’s website. The website is no longer online, so I am posting them here.
These pictures show TrainTime on March 4-5, 2000 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, presented by the Society of Model Engineers. This first group of pictures were taken on film, and I scanned them in 2003.

The rest of these pictures were taken on March 4, 2000, by a club member with a digital camera, though I’m not sure who. I am including them for completion.

Finally, the following image shows the state of the Society of Model Engineers layout. By 1998, the club’s permanent layout had made a fair amount of progress, with scenery in place on much of the original layout and an expansion in progress. However, some of the members felt that the layout was lacking in operational interest, and that it did not use the room’s limited space well. At the end of the 1998-1999 school year, an historic decision was made to start anew, thus SOME’s third layout was destroyed in favor of a new layout. The new layout would be a double-deck design, loosely based on the Wisconsin Central railroad line between Burlington and Cedar Lake, Wisconsin. The ambitious design took time to become a reality, and when this picture was taken, there was still a lot of work to do.
I am not sure who took this picture or where it came from. It may have come from the Ingenium student newspaper, but I could be wrong.
