…Continued from Part 2.
The Longview, Kelso & Rainier Model Railroad Club's fourth annual Model Train Show & Swap Meet in Rainier, Oregon was held September 19-20, 2009 in the gym of the Riverside Community Church, the former Rainier Elementary School.
This small HO Layout was built to be raffled by the club in November 2009.
Tickets would be sold at this show and at the Lewis County Train Show & Swap Meet in Chehalis, Washington on October 10-11 and at the Rainier Marina Market on October 17 & 24.
The raffle layout included everything shown, including the structures, Tech II power pack and train.
These views show the structures and train, and the track plan, which a loop that crosses over itself, with a single passing siding and two industry spurs.
The train includes a powered Athearn SW7 in Burlington Northern, a matching Athearn wide-vision caboose and several freight cars, all equipped with knuckle couplers.
This is the main depot on the layout.
Here the train is passing under a pedestrian overpass.
Where the loop crosses over itself, there is a tower.
There are two tunnels on the layout, passing through a hill at one end.
Among the industries on the layout is this factory, a kit from Design Preservation Models.
On the same spur is the Mount Vernon Manufacturing Company.
On the other spur is this Bachmann depot.
Among the buildings in town is this Bachmann gas station.
Other buildings in town include a Bachmann house and a Design Preservation Models store.
Finally, there is this store, Gardner & Ness Leader In Men's Fashions.
This kit is better known as Bachmann's Toy & Hobby Shop.
This version included the front planter and the interior including the clothing racks.
This building was my project years ago for the club, and I am a little sad to see it go.
I made a new HVAC unit for the roof, modified a wall, made "clothes" from post-it notes and staples, & a lot of painting.
Here is a video of the train running on the raffle layout.
This video shows a steam engine pulling a Tyco "Baby Ruth" sound car on the raffle layout. This locomotive and car were NOT included in the raffle.
