I originally posted these pictures on my old website on June 22, 2008.
I took these pictures of my HO-scale model railroad on June 7, 2008. These picture feature my Mantua 4-6-2 with a Vanderbilt oil tender instead of its original square coal tender. The Vanderbilt tender came from one of my dad’s rotary snow plows, which he modernized by replacing the tenders with unpowered F7Bs. There are also some pictures showing the entire layout overall.
The captions for these pictures were written as if my layout were a real railroad in Oregon called the Logan & San Miguel Railroad (or L&SM for short), and as if these pictures were historical photos posted on the company’s website.
The following series of photographs shows Logan & San Miguel 4-6-2 Pacific #462 with its Vanderbilt tender, pulling a passenger train through San Miguel and into Logan, terminating in the Logan Yard.

In 1969, the Logan & San Miguel commissioned a series of photographs of locations around Logan, San Miguel and the surrounding areas, for use in promoting the area to lure new businesses to the area and increase on-line rail traffic.
