Marx #400 Locomotive

Marx #400 Locomotive with Plastic Tender

The Marx #400 locomotive was the first plastic Marx steam locomotive. It was introduced in the early 1950’s and it was made in both clockwork and electric versions. This is a clockwork version. It is shown with a plastic tender produced in 1968 or later, as the real Penn Central did not exist until then. The concept of a Penn Central steam locomotive is interesting, as the real Penn Central was created too late to ever have any.
