The Logan & San Miguel is a fictional railroad in central Oregon. A portion of this railroad is modeled in the basement of my parents' house, specifically, the portion including the railroad's namesake towns, as it would have been in September 1969.

The Logan & San Miguel is a regional railroad in central Oregon, operating between Portland, Eugene and Bend, with a branch line to Foster. It is currently the third largest railroad in Oregon, with nearly 400 miles of track, all within the state. The L&SM offers fast freight service over its lines and direct connections to the Central Oregon & Pacific, Portland & Western, and Longview, Kelso & Rainier, as well as Class 1s Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. The L&SM also offers weekend steam-powered excursions over its line in refurbished passenger cars from the "Golden Age" of railroading. The L&SM prides itself on its excellent customer service.

In the Next Post, learn about the interesting history of the Logan & San Miguel Railroad.
