MSOE Society of Model Engineers Layout in the 1970s

These pictures are from the archives of the Society of Model Engineers model railroad club at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I scanned these pictures in November 2003 so they could be posted on the club’s website. The website is no longer online, so I am posting them here.

These pictures of the Milwaukee School of Engineering Society of Model Engineers HO-scale layout were taken in the 1970s. Most were not dated, so I have largely guessed at the order.

This first picture was processed in May 1970.

The bridge in the background of this picture was replaced around 1975, helping to date the scene.

This scene also features the bridge that was replaced, dating the picture before 1975.

The following group of color pictures were taken after 1975, as the bridge has been replaced. The new bridge was built by club member John Figie, and was named the John Figie Memorial Bridge.

I am not sure when these last two pictures were taken, as they are close-up pictures that show very little of the layout, but I assume they are late 1970s pictures.
